‘We don’t need advice from outside,’ Pakistan tells Zalmay Khalilzad

The Pakistani Foreign Office spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, was recently asked about former US special representative on Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad's advice to the Pakistani government on its policies regarding former premier Imran Khan, which had been posted on social media. Baloch referred to a statement by the ministry and the minister for information, both of which had previously addressed the matter, and reiterated that Pakistan did not need outside advice on how to deal with its current challenges. She also declined to comment on reports of the recall of Pakistan's ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the delayed Chinese loan of $2 billion. Baloch stated that Pakistan was an active member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and would participate in its activities, including the National Security Advisers SCO meeting in New Delhi. She also confirmed that Pakistan had expressed its concerns with the SCO regarding the exclusion of its defence attache from an SCO-related meeting and that a working level delegation had attended the 16th meeting of the expert working group under the Council of the Ministers of Defense of SCO member states.
